Umnenge Mineral Water
Umnenge mineral water is brought to you from one of the purest sources of natural spring water in the world. It is bottled at source from the Stanford eye aquifer in the Overberg, which is the fynbos capital of the world. Umnenge water is the healthiest way to quench your thirst.
Before being bottled, the water goes through reverse osmosis machines to filter and purify it. Birkenhead Brewery bottles this water into sterilised recycleable bottles and labels it for us. We offer both still and sparkling water in a large range of sizes up to 5 litre bottles.

Why is water important: Water reduces the risk of cancer, it improves our immune system and helps to maintain our weight at the correct level. Water transports nutrients to cells within the blood it helps and regulates our body temperature.
Is tap water safe or not? If the water coming out of the tap looks clear it doesn't mean it is safe drinking water. There could be pesticides, bacteria, viruses or toxins dissolved in it. Water isn't supposed to be anything else than our water which forms the basis of a healthy diet.
Why do we need water? If we don't drink enough water, our bodies start retaining water, causing intense swelling. We need water in order to breath, strange but true. To be able to take in oxygen and eliminate carbon dioxide, our lungs must be moistened by water. We lose almost a litre of water every day just by breathing. The blood and lungs of the average person consist of about 80% water and the brain and heart of about 75%.
Why is home filtered water sometimes not safe? The normal home filter systems filter the water but the dirt gets trapped inside the filter, which becomes the perfect breeding ground for bacteria. All the dirt collects at the filter point, because the filter doesn't have an outflow for the contaminants.
