What a beautiful experience!!!! really and truly a home away from home. Mary and Richards family, Thank you for being so very welcoming and down to earth and for going out of your way with every aspect of our stay. For one, The Braai (a star sort of bbq) was delisious and such a pleasure to enjoy your company and discussions for dinner. The fishing was so well organised and a pleasure to catch the abundant cape reef species. i will be back for my shark, something to look forward too. thank you for providing us with such a clean and organised environment which i must say, i am so impressed with the interior design and all the cutom designed furniture and architecture you came up with. we will definitely be back in the near future and look forward to being at Umnenge Lodge once again it was just 'LEKKER'

Unfortunately I stayed at the Umnenge lodge a too short time. Where to begin... location GREAT!!! Such a wonderful view on the ocean with included in the price... an amazing sunset!! The lodge was perfect: nice, clean and perfect room. And last... Richard and Mary are such great hosts!!! We felt like home :-) They make you feel so well and everything you need... they are there. Thanx you guys. If in the future I will decide for South Africa again... for sure I will spend some days there. So... see yeahhhhhh.

My partner Andy and I stayed Umnenge Lodge in September 2009 and can thoroughly recommend it to all! Hosts Mary and Richard were so very welcoming and such great fun it that our stay was more like visiting friends. Their little son Quinn added to the entertainment and the relaxed atmosphere while Jessie, the lovely (and extremely placid) Alsation acted as unofficial guide when Andy & I went for walks along the spectacular coastal paths. Superb food (Richard even braved an unusally wet night to BBQ for us!), fantastic whale watching opportunities (our room also had terrific sea views) beautiful decor and furnishings with a real African feel...what more could you ask for? PS Our whole African experience was so good Andy even proposed to me!! A good excuse to return to Umnenge for the honeymoon!

Mandy and I are from Johannesburg and fell in love with the Western Cape since 2007. I can currently guarantee our dream is to move there soon. It lifts our spirits and self-worth during holiday periods and shares warmth not visible in other provinces. She urged me this year to settle for more than two days in one spot and I subdued. We decided to tackle Umnenge Lodge in De Kelders for four days, but we were tackled instead! And we loved it! Mary, Richard, kiddies, staff and our guide on walks, Jessie the German Shepherd embraced us into this unique lodge, and shared not only great service, but a true experience of family worth. We had the time of our lives! Thank you for all the amazing dinners, breakfasts, bookings, music, unique beer, company, knowledge etc. We will never forget this! We will see you someday soon. We wish you all the best of luck! Please keep our contact details for any assistance in Johannesburg. We also LOVED the personal flight, cage diving and whale trip arranged by Richard and Mary!! What a trip!

Being from the Hotel Industry, I've seen many beautiful and glamorous places, but Umnenge Lodge is truly unique, decorated with impeccable taste, but still with a wonderful warm and home-like atmosphere. The views are breathtaking!

On a spontaneous weekend away my husband and I were delighted to find Mary and Richard at Umnenge Lodge. Their attention to detail has brought to life a place of real romance, in a very unigue setting. The views are gorgeous, breakfast healthy and delicious...a very memorable experience. The bath (by canle light)in the Dingaan Suite is a must!
