Umnenge Lodge is a newly built 4 star African guesthouse, offering luxury South-African style accommodation on the rugged cliffs of De Kelders near Gansbaai and Hermanus in South Africa. Umnenge offers family and child friendly accommodation.

We provide all the perks of a luxury hotel with the quiet serenity and personal attention of a guest house.

The lodge serves as a perfect launch pad to go shark cage diving and whale watching - both of which are within a few kilometers, as well as the many other activities in the area such as exploring the natural caves, fishing, diving, horse riding and hiking.

We can arrange any of these activities for you whether you stay with us or not - just ask us and we'll take care of it.

Our Origin

"Umnenge" is a Xhosa expression meaning 'whale in the bay' and refers to the Southern Right Whale which can be seen clearly from Umnenge Lodge frolicking in the waters of Walker Bay from July to December each year.
